Caidence

CAIDENCE has a disbelieving smile on her face and shakes her head. Her hands fold on top of her waist, and she looks back to the sky.

CAIDENCE
So disappointing.

JACK
What?

CAIDENCE
That you're one of 'those people.'

JACK tilts his head in confusion.

JACK
I've done something to categorize myself, have I?

CAIDENCE (CON'T)
You're one of those people that take the good things and pick them apart until they're nothing more than shit. You could be having the best day of your life- but you wouldn't know it because earlier on that morning your eggs were delivered scrambled instead of over easy.

Jack leans forward, almost over her.

CAIDENCE
Am I right?

JACK
(laughs)
I just don't believe in the idea of perfection.

CAIDENCE
Perfection exists in the essence of what everything is. Most people just don't see it because what they want is the ideal of perfection.  Funny thing is, they'll never find it because they're looking too hard at the flaws that makes everything perfect in it's own way.

There's an awkward silence as Jack just stares down at her pale face. A smirk sneaks in, and he leans back.

JACK
Are you perfect?

CAIDENCE
Impeccably...

She laughs at her own self-confidence, then looks to Jack.

CAIDENCE
I suppose it all depends on your perception.

She winks.

Remember 3000 years ago where I briefly mentioned that I was going to do outfits based on characters from some of the scripts I worked on? Well, as you can probably tell by the little blurb up above- it finally accidentally happened!
It's nice, really, that the first character I'd "style" on the blog would be Caidence.  Especially considering it was from my very first attempt at a screenplay called "Beauty, Simplistic."  Sound familiar? ;)

When I first started working on the script, I described her as an ornery girl who enjoyed nothing more than doing things she was told not to do.  She thrives and cherishes all experiences, no matter how small they might be.

What about this says Caidence? I wasn't sure until I actually put it on.  Hence the accidentally.  When I put on the last few touches, I was literally taken aback.  I always pictured her as an extremely girly, old school farm girl.  Always the more neutral color schemes and delicate contrasts.

I often miss having the time for working on my screenwriting, but between school, blogging, and social time I don't really have the room for it.  Perhaps when summer arrives I'll be able to work it back into my schedule :)

  7. You are such an amazing writer. So many people fail at dialogue but you definitely do not. I'm so impressed! And I LOVE this outfit, especially the fact that it's inspired by your own character. I've been wanting to do something similar, dress like my characters, but a lot of them are 18th century elves soooo... :\

But SERIOUSLY. I love the light colors and all the necklaces!
